Why the blog needs connecting first

The blog itself lives on Every Single Blog, so this page does nothing until you have connected an account under Settings then Integrations. That is a one-time step. The reason it is built this way is that your posts stay yours and stay portable: they live in a blogging platform rather than being trapped in a website builder, and they can feed more than one site.
